An investigation is underway following a fatal house fire in Blaenau Ffestiniog yesterday evening (9^th October).

Shortly after 8.30pm North Wales Fire and Rescue Service was notified of a house on fire in Benar View, Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Firefighters from Blaenau Ffestiniog and Porthmadog used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to enter the building but sadly found an elderly woman who had died.

A joint investigation between the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and North Wales Police is now underway to establish the cause of the fire.
